Please advise me how to build webpages
I have frontpage and dreamweaver. Can someone give me the lowdown on how to build a website? Is there a site that tells you how to do it, and simple to understand. I need it to be real simple to understand. I can create the pages, its the make it all work in hostrocket that I have a problem doing.

My granddaughter asked the same question just a while ago. I didn't feel adequate to deal with the question (and answer) so I did a bit of browsing and found this maginificent site. She is up and running now!

Your question is very general and non-specific. Websites can be created a multitude of different ways. Webpages can be static and document like (static html). They can also be dynamically created using a language such as php or asp. These are the preferred methods if the website is to be database driven. Flash websites offer total creative control but are index poorly by search engines. My advice is learn html markup, then write html with php or asp. Or go the easy way and install a content management system (CMS) and modify it to suit your needs.

All good options suresharji but my opinion is still, successfull website development requires some html markup knowledge. This even applies to CMS systems because the included wysiwyg editors always always need html correction to achive the right outcome.
