I think domains are grossly overpriced. In my opinion, marketing people are overestimating the importance of a domain name.

Example; If I want pizza....I will open a search engine and search for 'pizza'. I will not simply open a browser and type in pizza.com. I want a range of results, not a narrow-minded one.

Yes it may be nice to have the easiest and most popular domain name. However, the chances are that once I've googled the page i'm looking for, i'm just going to make it a favourite anyway and couldn't care less about it's domain name. And I think this is probably the case for most net users.

I wouldn't have paid $2.60, let alone $2,600,000.
