Default Parental controls help...

Hi there,

I need some help removing my parental controls. I set up a second account that acted as the administrator so that i could set up parental controls on the main account. The controls went haywire and stop me from viewing alot of the pages on the internet, even my email. Because of this, I am trying to remove the parental controls now. I can enter the control panel and into the user accounts no problem. But when i try and change anything, it brings up a box saying that i need to type an administrator password and click ok. Well, theres no where to type the password and the ok box does not become clickable. I can log into the administrator account but i get the same problem when trying to change the preferences... Any suggestions?

If you are saying that you don't have admin rights, and you want them go to another admin account. Click on start/Control Panel/User Accounts. Click on "Manage accounts" and you can give other accounts admin rights. You can also click on "set up Parental Controls" and see if you can change the access for the limited account.

Then you can turn of the password prompt to stop asking you for the administrative password. Just follow these steps to disable it.

#1) Go to Start/Accessories/Run and type in "msconfig"
#2) Click on "Tools"
#3) Scroll down to "Disable UAC"
#4) Restart your computer

Your computer should stop asking you to type the administrative password and you should be able to manage the other account.
