Default Double clicking in explorer leads to Desktop

I am having a very weird issue with Vista explorer. Anytime I double click on a folder, file or link within explorer scope, It leads me to desktop, opens desktop. Now I can use other explorer replacements and double click just fine, which means it has nothing to do with mouse or other pointing devices. Can anyone think of why I might have this issue?

Have you tried restoring the default folder options? Folder Options can be found in the Control Panel.
