Default Good Registry cleaner for XP and Vista?

Hi all, can someone recommend good registry cleaner software for XP and Vista? Thank you.

I would try J16 Powertools. This was recommended to me by a friend and it seems like it does the job.

Ccleaner, which is REALLY thorough (Almost too much sometimes - make a backup1) or, one I have used right through the XP era into Vista Reg supreme.
FWIW: If you have no apparent problems with your computer, it is not really neccessary to clean your reg. Cleaning out, say 20 items which are unused, would hardly be measurable in terms of memory or overload. If you still feel the need, Microsoft's own reg cleaner does the job more carefully. Microsoft no longer post it on their web sites, partly for the reasons stated above, but you can still download it (free) from various pages. Heres one:
