Default Speaker Troubles...... I need to run this query by some one...

Hi I have a 60watt speakers running from my laptop...They are working great, except for when I boot and shut down... They run on electricity so they are higher powered than regular speakers.. They are plugged into the headphone jack....

I took em off for a test to see if it was my computer and I used my headphones as well and they were fine... Could it be a grounding issue, or static from a burst of static running through the jack causing the pops... It only pops once or twice on boot up and shutdown...

I was wondering getting a USB to jack cable would help my situation? I see them on ebay cheap... like 99c free shipping...

Thank you for time...
