Default RESET/REMOVE instances in Vista Security Center

I see that some guys are desperately looking for a solution to remove instances on the security center in vista....I found today a solution:

1. start Vista in Safe Mode with CMD
2. open task manager with ctrl+alt+del
3. stop the process named "Windows Defender"
4. switch to the CMD and type: cd c:\windows\system32\wbem
5. now you have to remove the directory called "repository" with following command: rd /q /s repository

6. now you should've removed the directory....for test just type cd repository, if it says directory not found....you are succesfull

now restart your vista with ctrl+alt+del then press on power off menu-arrow and click on restart

After restart open your securtiy center and see....all becomes normal

Cheers and for the future.....the best security suite for Vista x64 is BitDefender 2008......I used Kaspersky 7 and it slows down my system alot more than BitDefender, besides Kaspersky 7 is not a native x64 bit program, but BitDefender is and Kaspersky is not better than BitDefender, it is using more resources and makes more changes on the system, so it's harder to get rid off.

I.m not sure, but I think that would also remove some of your indexing options and some of the directory mapping..
Another way to remove the security centre is:
1. Start/Run and type cmd
2. Type cd\
3. Type cd windows\system32
4. As a user, Run these commands, If you have followed the tweak above, you can just go straight in and rename them:
a. takeown /f wscapi.dll
b. takeown /f wscsvc.dll
c. takeown /f wscui.cpl
This has given you ownership of the three files. Now enter the System32 directory via Windows Explorer and right click each of these three files. Go to the Properties/Security Tab and edit/add an entry for everyone and give them all full access. (tick all the squares).
Rename these three files with a BAK extension.
In Start/Run type services.msc and disable the Security Center Service.
If you like, you can also run the attached reg file. It will give you a right click option to take ownership. I renamed it a "doc" file to upload it. rename the extension "reg" and run it.
Attached Files
File Type: doc InstallTakeOwnership.doc (660 Bytes, 2 views)
