I know this is a little off-topic for this forum but I found this article very interesting and decided to share. The article describes in detail (with screenshots) the process to installing, setting up, and running Mac OS X on standard PC hardware.
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/10/20/macosx_on_a_pc/ If someone at the forum decides to try this please post your results for those of us who might be interested. |

It would be the sort of thing I would do, having plenty of time on my hands (not by choice!). I have a spare 'puter I use for just such things, so I'll have another read through that article and others I will find and see if I can get hold of the required disks. If I do attempt it I will certainly let you know what's happened.
Apart from anything else it must be one of the few OS I have not at least tried, even if just for the sheer hell of it. ![]() |

Downloading the image file is very slow, clearly it's not what you could call oversubscribed, but I'll get there eventually (at the moment another 2 or so days).
At least the instructions seem clear enough, the myriad screenshots is very useful, I'm looking forward to giving it a shot now, even managed to grab a new drive just for that purpose. |
