Let's get some more much needed info about your 'puter first, can you post the full spec or the make and model if it's a retail machine.
Thing is Vista has a lot going on and giving a percentage doesn't tell much without knowing what it's 50% of. Half the resource available for some machines may fairly high, but for others, not so much. Whilst you get your details sorted ou to post I will go through your HT report and see if anything screams at me. Getting AT HT Log Can you paste the log into MS works or word and upload it as an attachment, the host you have used, doesn't permit viewing online and wont let me download it as I am, naturally, not logged in and an invalid user, I don't want to open an account with them, so can you post it as suggested ? Before going too much further into this, having had a quick look at the HT log, you are running an inordinate number of BHO's (browser helper objects), whilst some are not bad as such, they are all generally considered a pest.
Here's what you're running, red means don't need for any reason, orange is undesirable and green is not too bad but only if you really must, any of these can be stopped by going to 'tools' > manage add ons, from any IE window. O2 - BHO: AcroIEHelperStub - {18DF081C-E8AD-4283-A596-FA578C2EBDC3} - c:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX\AcroIEHelperShim.dll O2 - BHO: Groove GFS Browser Helper - {72853161-30C5-4D22-B7F9-0BBC1D38A37E} - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\GrooveShellExtensions.dll O2 - BHO: Java(tm) Plug-In SSV Helper - {761497BB-D6F0-462C-B6EB-D4DAF1D92D43} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\ssv.dll O2 - BHO: Megaupload Toolbar - {A057A204-BACC-4D26-C39E-35F1D2A32EC8} - C:\PROGRA~1\MEGAUP~1\MEGAUP~1.DLL O2 - BHO: Google Toolbar Helper - {AA58ED58-01DD-4d91-8333-CF10577473F7} - C:\Program Files\Google\Google Toolbar\GoogleToolbar.dll O2 - BHO: Google Toolbar Notifier BHO - {AF69DE43-7D58-4638-B6FA-CE66B5AD205D} - C:\Program Files\Google\GoogleToolbarNotifier\5.0.926.3450\sw g.dll O2 - BHO: MegaIEMn - {bf00e119-21a3-4fd1-b178-3b8537e75c92} - C:\Program Files\Megaupload\Mega Manager\MegaIEMn.dll O2 - BHO: Google Dictionary Compression sdch - {C84D72FE-E17D-4195-BB24-76C02E2E7C4E} - C:\Program Files\Google\Google Toolbar\Component\fastsearch_219B3E1547538286.dll O2 - BHO: Browser Address Error Redirector - {CA6319C0-31B7-401E-A518-A07C3DB8F777} - C:\Program Files\Dell\BAE\BAE.dll O2 - BHO: Java(tm) Plug-In 2 SSV Helper - {DBC80044-A445-435b-BC74-9C25C1C588A9} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jp2ssv.dll O3 - Toolbar: &Google Toolbar - {2318C2B1-4965-11d4-9B18-009027A5CD4F} - C:\Program Files\Google\Google Toolbar\GoogleToolbar.dll O3 - Toolbar: Megaupload Toolbar - {A057A204-BACC-4D26-C39E-35F1D2A32EC8} - C:\PROGRA~1\MEGAUP~1\MEGAUP~1.DLL You may notice some appear twice so one is not required, don't just stop it but remove it using the manage add ons tools. I think this will see a reduction in the amount of resource being used by IE. |
